Welcome to BreakerDome!!
Our story
The Ocean Grove Breakers Basketball Club was founded in 2022 with one simple goal: to make basketball accessible for everyone in our community.
What started as a small club has grown beyond anything we imagined. Today, hundreds of players pull on a Breakers jersey each week, supported by dedicated coaches, volunteers and families who believe in creating a positive sporting environment.
As we grew, so did one major challenge, court space.
With hundreds of players taking the court each week, our greatest challenge quickly became access to training facilities. Like many growing clubs, court availability is limited, meaning teams often have just one training session each week and very few opportunities for individual skill development.
Rather than waiting for someone else to solve the problem, we chose to create the solution ourselves.
Driven by passion
BreakerDome was born from the belief that our community deserves a dedicated basketball home, a place where players of all ages and abilities can train, learn and belong.
This isn't just another sports venue. It's a community hub designed to provide skills programs, individual development, team training, holiday clinics, coach education and opportunities that simply haven't existed locally.
BreakerDome is more than a building, it is the result of countless hours volunteered by people who care deeply about our community.
What makes BreakerDome even more special is how it's being built.
There is no major government funding behind this project. It is being made possible through the generosity of local businesses, the commitment of our sponsors, the hard work of volunteers, fundraising by our members and a community that believes in investing in its young people.
Every sponsorship, every fundraiser, every booking and every person who walks through our doors helps us build something that will benefit generations of local players.
BreakerDome is proof that when a community comes together with a shared vision, incredible things can happen.
More than a court…..
a home for the Breakers
BreakerDome is far more than a basketball training facility, it is an investment in our people, our club and the future of our community.
As our club has grown, so has the feedback from our members. You spoke, and we listened. You told us you wanted more training opportunities, specialised skill development, school holiday programs and community events where everyone could come together and truly feel part of the club. BreakerDome is our response.
More than a training venue, BreakerDome will become the heart of our club. It will offer expanded training opportunities before and after school, in the evenings and on weekends, along with smaller training groups, longer sessions and specialised development programs that simply aren't possible within the current availability of community courts. Our vision is to create an environment where players can develop their skills, build confidence, strengthen friendships and experience the values that sport teaches, teamwork, resilience, respect and community. A place where every member feels they belong, and where the Ocean Grove Breakers can continue to grow for generations to come.
